According to an Entertainment Weekly report, Ricky Gervais will produce a new TV series called Afterlife in which an atheist lead character dies and goes to heaven. Gervais will team with former Dexter producer Clyde Phillips in writing the pilot, which should film in 2012. Gervais, himself a staunch atheist, was the creator of the highly popular series The Office and has a reputation of stirring up controversy in television appearances. No studio has as yet picked up the series.
