Billboards Engage Atheists in Times Square, San Francisco and Los Angeles

On Monday of this week, a creationist organization challenged atheists with billboard messages from coast to coast proclaiming the message, “To all our atheist friends: Thank God you’re wrong.” Residents and tourists in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area can view new unique billboards this morning, with Los Angeles and Hollywood following in a few days with several similar boards.

Ken Ham, president of the sponsoring organization Answers in Genesis, states, “In a friendly way, we want to reach out to people in secularized parts of the country and share the hope we have in Christ. Atheists live in a world of ultimate meaninglessness and purposelessness. But the good news is that God sent His Son to offer the free gift of salvation. There is purpose and meaning in life. And we thank God for that.”

In Times Square, the board will be visible for 15 seconds every two minutes located at the corner of 42nd Street and 8th Avenue. The billboard is 45 feet by 90 feet in size. The boards will go up in Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, on the Santa Ana Freeway in Los Angeles, and two high-profile locations on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
