Weekend Teaching Series: You are here (week 2 of 3)
Message Title: Where are you coming from?
Sermon in a Sentence: Directions to a destination are impossible without a starting point, we have to know where we are coming from.
Attendance: up 63% from last week! Sounds awesome, but we have 26 students last night for our Sr. High service.
Understandable Message: The message this week gave a very brief introduction, followed by an explanation of the funnel we do ministry through, and then an interactive survey where kids texted their responses to the screen for questions like “I struggle with….” “My friends at school might not know I am a Christian because….” “My friends at school know Im a christian because ….” etc. etc. In all there was close to 15 questions that help me understand where they are all at as a group.
Interactive Element: We used text-polling (via polleverywhere.com) for the survey. I love this product and want to sign up for a larger account, but for our size I can’t justify the $60 a month I would like to use. Maybe soon when we have the numbers to justify it though

Overall grade: I would give the night a grade of a C. Still getting settled in and I didn’t have everything as prepared as I would have liked. There’s a lot of things with the Youth Service that aren’t established yet, and I and the volunteers need to just invest some time getting those sort of things ready.
