Satan Is ‘Loud and Proud,’ So We Must Preach Truth, ‘Nefarious’ Author Tells Phil and Jase Robertson

Speaking about sheep and wolves, Deace said, “There are wolves all throughout our churches now.” The problem with “seeker-friendly-ism,” he added, is that “if everyone’s a sheep, then nobody is.” While “sheep don’t know and need a shepherd, wolves don’t want to know.”

‘Nefarious’ Speaks to ‘The Current Spirit of the Age’

The good news, said Jase Robertson, is that now “we’re in an era where we’re making a difference.” He mentioned that the “Duck Dynasty” team has a “gritty” movie (“The Blind”) coming out later this year. Of the increasing quality of Christian-themed films, he added, “We’re finally getting a great product out there, to tell our stories. I praise God for that.”

Phil Robertson, who described crowds of people traveling to his Louisiana church to hear the gospel and get baptized, said “Nefarious” couldn’t have come at a better time. “I’m feeling, slowly, that there’s a turn that’s begun here,” the “Duck Dynasty” patriarch told Deace. “And I guarantee that movie you just made helps the cause.”

“Nefarious” was brought to the screen by Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon, the pair behind “Unplanned” and “God’s Not Dead.” If it does well enough, Deace said, a sequel might be made, based on his book “A Nefarious Carol.”

The author encourages Christians to be “ambassadors” for the film and to encourage church groups to go view it together. “They’ll be very pleased with how this movie confronts the current spirit of the age,” Deace said. “It’s also just a really darn good movie.”
