The Grammy Award-winning singer acknowledged that in a crowd of 30,000 people, there are probably “a lot of people who have fought through hell this week to get here—to get a piece of heaven.” Lake said, “I don’t know what you’re going through, but I know a few of the stories in this place tonight, and I can’t even imagine fighting through what you have to fight through to still lift up a hallelujah.”

“You know what’s going to be really easy when we all get to heaven? Worship,” Lake answered. “Because your worship won’t be laced in pain and suffering, in fear or in doubt, [or] in confusion. Your worship will be perfect before a perfect God. Worship will be easy. So on this side of eternity, how much more precious of a gift is your worship to God, because he knows everything you have to fight through, every hard thing you have to fight through to lift up a hallelujah.”

Before singing “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” Lake said, “So I pray in Jesus name as we sing this song, that if you’re going through a hardship, if you’re going through a tough time, that the Spirit of God would sweep over this place, that he would intervene [and that] he would give you faith and strength to keep going and bring about breakthrough and healing and freedom.”
