If I Perish, I Perish

This is from a new missionary biography I’ve been enjoying. This amazing lady, Ahn Ei Sook, was one of the first Korean Christians. As a teenager in Korea, she lived through one of the worst anti-Christian persecutions in history at the hands of Imperial Japan. She believed God told her in 1939 to go to Tokyo to warn the empire that if they did not forsake the tyrannical, persecuting ways that God would rain down fire from the sky on them.

At the beginning she says that the missionaries who brought them to Christ taught them four key things to build their lives on:

  1. Jesus is the only Son of God and is the only Savior.
  2. Jesus will never forsake His believers.
  3. Jesus is able to take all the misfortunes of believers and turn them into good for the believers.
  4. Jesus hears the prayers of His children.
