Stovall Weems, who in January was suspended as the senior pastor of Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Fla., announced Monday night that he was resigning from his positions at the church effective immediately.

Stovall and Kerri Weems have sued Celebration Church, which they founded, for injunctive relief, alleging that a trustee orchestrated the ouster of Stovall Weems. The church has filed a motion to dismiss the injunction, alleging various financial improprieties and “abuse of power.”
