He serves as the canon theologian for the Diocese of Western Kansas, the theological adviser for the ACNA Diocese of the Carolinas, and the canon theologian to the Anglican Diocese of Egypt. His research has received Fulbright, Guggenheim, National Endowment for the Humanities, and German Research Council awards.
