Last weekend, I was at Lake Pointe Church in the Dallas area.  They have a really cool children's ministry area. Take a look at these pictures for inspiration.

Over the past 24 years as a seminary professor, I’ve worked with a lot of students who had a parent who was a minister, but who were at first certain they would never follow in those steps. When I’ve asked what their first objections were, here’s what I’ve most often heard in no particular order

We wanted to become more intentional than ever before in accomplishing our goals and instilling our values into our children, and we felt that in a lot of ways, our family’s schedule was not allowing us to do that. This resulted in what we call “The Year of the FAM!”

There are a few significant facts that tend to get left out of the discussion about who should disciple children, facts that carry a lot of weight and are important for both the church and the home to consider as we continue the conversations.
