7. Ezekiel 36:26-27 – A New Heart and Spirit

Ezekiel 36:26-27 prophesies that under the New Covenant, God will transform the hearts of His people:

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”

This promise of spiritual transformation through the Holy Spirit highlights the internal change that accompanies the New Covenant, leading to a life of obedience and holiness.

8. Hebrews 10:16-17 – God’s Law Written on Hearts

Hebrews 10:16-17 echoes Jeremiah’s prophecy, emphasizing that God’s law will be written on believers’ hearts as part of the New Covenant:

“This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

In the New Covenant, God promises to forgive sins completely, and His law will guide believers from within, not just through external commandments.

9. Romans 8:3-4 – The Righteous Requirement of the Law Fulfilled

In Romans 8:3-4, Paul explains how the New Covenant enables believers to fulfill the righteous requirements of the law:

“For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

Through the New Covenant, Jesus’ sacrifice empowers believers to live righteous lives, fulfilling God’s law through the Spirit.

Finally, 1 Peter 1:18-19 highlights the price of the New Covenant—Jesus’ precious blood:

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

The New Covenant was made possible by the sacrificial death of Jesus, offering redemption that cannot be bought with money, but only through His blood.
