Former Youth Pastor Rearrested on Federal Charges After Pleading Guilty to Child Sex Crime

“We are deeply saddened and continue to grieve for the student, her family, and all that have been impacted by the abuse that has taken place,” the church said. “It was and remains our desire and intention to support the victim and family, and we ask that you join in praying for everyone involved as we ask God to bring ultimate healing and redemption.”

Getwell also said that it is committed to providing “guardrails so that every person of every age is safe on any Getwell Church campus, including background checks and strict policies to govern all interactions across the board.”

“The disturbing nature of these events have caused some to question the Gospel and our mission,” the church added. “In truth, the Good News of Jesus is our only hope of redemption and healing from these events.”

“We are in desperate need of Jesus every day—only He can save us from the sin and evil of this world. We must continue to depend on God’s goodness and power amid the brokenness of our world,” the church said. “Be the light of Christ and do not let Satan destroy the work that is so critically important. Keep praying, seeking truth, and loving the people around you. May God bring healing, justice, and new life to our community as only He can do.”
