Forty-nine people originally wrote letters in support of Whiteside in the run-up to her sentencing, but two have now accused Whiteside of coercing them into supporting her and giving them the false impression that she was innocent.

While Whiteside had been placed under 24/7 house arrest on a $60,000 unsecured bond while she awaits her trial for the federal charges, that bond has now been revoked and Whiteside has been taken back into custody.

During an evidentiary hearing on Wednesday (Nov. 12), Whiteside’s defense pointed out that Whiteside has been in home confinement since Oct. 31 with no issues and argued that she posed no threat to the community.

The judge sided with prosecutors, expressing that she was “troubled” that the defense had characterized Whiteside’s relationship with her victim as a “sexual dating relationship.”
