In a statement to Fox News, Tyler said that “at no point” was she representing either Round Rock ISD or Leander ISD, adding that “this was not an attack on Christianity and had nothing to do with Round Rock ISD.” Tyler is not currently an employee of Round Rock ISD and is a parent in Leander ISD.

While disagreement over public school curriculum often arises from a shared passion among educators and parents that children and youth receive the best education possible, the way these debates progress is often reflective of the political fissures both within the church and in the broader culture of the nation.
