“I kind of adopted him in my heart,” said Michelle, “and I knew about this problem because he had come to me before and said, ‘My mom put a knife to my throat and she said if I don’t deny Jesus she will kill me.’”

Paul Levine, a neighbor to the family, told WZTV that the teen has often asked about his church and the Christian faith. He also indicated that the boy’s parents are not well-known in the neighborhood.
“They don’t have any friends in the neighborhood,” Levine said. “You never see them out.”

The teen has been removed from the home and is staying with a Christian foster family.
