During a presidential candidates forum on Monday night, Pressley expressed gratitude for the SBC’s Abuse Reform Implementation Task Force (ARITF) and the resources it has provided, which helped his church properly respond to and report the abuse allegations.

“Thank the Lord, the awareness was raised, we saw the training, we did what is necessary, we were ready,” Pressley said. “We would not have known what to do had this not come up. So there’s some very real and tangible results that have already happened.”
“So all of those things have been really, really good for our convention,” Pressley added. “And they’ve been good for me as a pastor.”
Speaking to his vision for the SBC presidency, Pressley said he sees the responsibility of the SBC president as being to lead Southern Baptists to “support our confession” and “our commitment to the Great Commission.”
