ChurchLeaders has reached out to 121 Community Church for comment and will update this article in the event of a response. In a statement to WFAA, the church said that it had terminated Alarcon’s employment.
“After we received a report concerning a suspicious device, we immediately made a report to the Grapevine Police Department,” the church said. “During the resulting investigation, we were made aware that Mr. Alarcon was a person of interest. Upon this notice, we placed Mr. Alarcon on administrative leave pending the investigation.”
“As reported by the Grapevine Police Department, the investigating detectives found a downloaded child pornography photo on his personal device, which was unrelated to our initial report,” the statement continued. “The Grapevine Police Department subsequently arrested and charged Mr. Alarcon, and we terminated his employment.”
The church indicated that it is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing, and said that investigators have not yet discovered evidence of additional crimes.
Alarcon was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 5. He has been released on a $15,000 bond.
