“We’re doing fine. It’s been an up and down battle for sure,” Shanor said. “But where I live…is awesome. The people have just responded in so many incredible ways. It’s just beyond belief.”

When Eaton asked Shanor to open the box containing the financial gift, Shanor exclaimed, “Oh, come on, now…God is good!”
“I just got covered in chills,” Shanor went on to say. “That is absolutely remarkable.”
“I’m speechless,” Shanor added. “For a pastor, that’s pretty good.”
In an email to ChurchLeaders, Shanor described the gift as “an amazing and extraordinary surprise.”
Shanor also praised his community, saying that numerous people have continued to reach out to him to offer support.
“Many with their time and skills. I have had more than several options as a place to live, even with my buddy/cat Churchill,” he said. “Their financial gifts are keeping me grateful. So very generous.”
“This is an extraordinarily community in every way, crossing denominational barriers, business competitors,” Shanor continued. “We are ONE in the Spirit and ONE in the Lord, loving our neighbors as we are told to by Jesus.”
Shanor joked that he never believed in Santa, “but I certainly do now and can see why he is a Saint. Hallelujah!” Shanor said that he is “not able” to adequately express his gratitude, adding, “I simply can’t, but I want to say this. GOD BLESS YOU ALL, and have a BLESSED, JOYOUS and a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!”
