“That says a lot for a our faith community. It says a lot for our community as a whole,” Covington said. “We’ve had a lot of people out here washing the buildings, doing all this stuff. It’s community members, so it says a lot about our community, that we stand together.”

A police investigation into the vandalism is ongoing.

“If you see something, say something,” Covington said. “Keep your eyes open, and prayerfully, we can come together and find a solution to not only our church, but our whole community. That’s our hope.”

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Southwest District Detectives Office at (317) 327-6421. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at (317) 262-8477.
