“It’s a tight-knit group of people,” Ginn said.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is asking the people of Kentucky to pray.
“Kentucky, we are aware of a series of incidents in Lexington around one suspect, including a trooper-involved shooting and an additional shooting at Richmond Road Baptist Church with multiple injuries,” Beshear wrote on X. “Please pray for everyone affected by these senseless acts of violence, and let’s give thanks for the swift response by the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky State Police.”

In a statement, Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton said, “Like so many communities across the country, today our community has experienced a mass shooting, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries. A state police trooper has also been injured.”
“Our police have a strong partnership with state police,” Gorton added. “The agencies will work together to fully investigate this tragedy.”
