“But if they say something untrue about you that is good,” he added, “they want to fix that.”
In an interview with KHOU 11 last week, Caldwell denied that he intentionally defrauded anybody, but he did admit to being culpable.
Caldwell was asked how it is possible that he holds an MBA and previously worked on Wall Street but he did not know that the Chinese bonds he offered as investments were worthless. He replied, “That’s exactly what the courts have said. Not only did I not know, the attorney working with me did not know either.”
Nevertheless, Caldwell said, “Let me say in a clarion and clear way with a bullhorn, I accept full responsibility for my poor judgment and subsequent illegal action.”
Caldwell also admitted to “co-mingling” his personal fund with investment funds.
Caldwell has made full restitution of the $3.6 million dollars to investors.
