Jinger Duggar Vuolo says she chose not to appear in the new docuseries, “Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets,” because she wanted to share her story in her own words.

“Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets” has revealed to author and Bible teacher Beth Moore just how much the teachings of Bill Gothard, which the Duggars promoted, have shaped her communities. 

Jinger Duggar Vuolo wants people who have been manipulated by false teachers in the name of Christ to know that God is trustworthy and that he loves them. Vuolo shared with ChurchLeaders what it was like for her to question her upbringing, an experience she recounts in her newly released memoir.

Jinger Duggar Vuolo announced Monday that she has written a book called, “Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear,” which chronicles her spiritual journey. Vuolo says the book is for people who want to “honestly examine” what they believe “without abandoning God.”
