From March 24-27, Missouri Baptist University Theatre raised $3,146.49 and then sent those funds through Send Relief to aid Ukrainian refugees.

Since coronavirus-related shutdowns and layoffs began in March, demand at food giveaways has continued to escalate. Churches and community organizations that distribute groceries and meals say the need has never been greater. 

After an earthquake struck the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, a massive tsunami wreaked havoc on the coastline. Over 1,200 bodies have been recovered so far. Relief efforts are stymied by lack of access to remote areas.

"About 80 percent of all recovery happens because of non-profits, and the majority of them are faith-based."

Most people do not believe prayer can avert natural disasters, yet many say they trust God more after natural disasters occur.

"When it comes to disaster relief, don't follow your heart, follow the direction of those already engaged."

I want to ask an important question that has been swirling around in my heart and mind over the past couple of days: Is prayer enough in a time of disaster?
