It is through our bodies that we do God’s will in the world. Our bodies are very integral to our spirituality. Body and spirit are connected, integrated, and united. What happens to one affects the other.

Rainn Wilson, who adheres to the Baha’i Faith, appeared on The Bible for Normal People podcast this week where he discussed “Why We Need a Spiritual Revolution.”

Spirituality can be a cheap substitute for righteousness. Spirituality and piety are not ends in themselves. In fact they are worthless unless they are means to a higher goal. The goal must go beyond spirituality to righteousness.

Hinduism marks the philosophy of everything from The Matrix to Star Wars. But Buddhism is what we increasingly practice. Or, more to the point, pray.
