Church-Going Teens Have Higher GPAs

Researchers now say teens who attend worship services on a weekly basis have a 0.144 higher GPA and are less likely to drop out of school than those who don’t attend church. The reason for these teens’ results, however, may not be what you think. According to those behind the nationwide study of seventh- through 12th-graders, the act of attending—involving such factors as increased adult interaction and sharing similar values with peers—trumps teens’ actual spiritual beliefs as a deciding factor.
