Jason Yates, Former CEO of My Faith Votes, Pleads Guilty to Possessing Child Sex Abuse Material

Jason Yates, former CEO of My Faith Votes, a faith-based nonprofit organization seeking to equip “Christians in America to vote in every election, transforming our communities and influencing our nation with biblical truth,” has pleaded guilty to possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

Yates was removed from his position at My Faith Votes in August 2024. He was arrested in November 2024 following an investigation that began after a relative reported finding a hard drive containing CSAM in Yates’ office.

According to its website, My Faith Votes is “a non-partisan movement.” However, it is known for aligning almost exclusively with Republican politicians and policy stances in its efforts to combat the influence of “secular progressives.” 

Yates has served as the organization’s CEO since its inception in 2015. 

According to court documents, the hard drive found in Yates’ office allegedly contained more than 100 files containing still images and videos of pornography involving minors under 14. 

Yates has now pleaded guilty to two felony charges. He was originally charged with eight counts.

“I now make no claim that I am innocent,” stated the form that Yates signed, according to The Christian Post. “That in view of all above facts and considerations I wish to enter a plea of guilty.”
