A robust exegetical theology is not widespread throughout the world in general, and the West in particular. The result is a fog of confusion that surrounds the work of the Church in the last days. We are in the fog of missions.

Why is a Pauline apostolic approach so radical and foreign to our imaginations?

Has peace with God, as a facet of the gospel, become familiar, worn, and a hackneyed point of attention? Or do we need to return to it?

All evangelism is important but all evangelism is not equal. There is a difference between a church having an evangelistic invitation (e.g., altar call) during a worship gathering and a church sending members to share the gospel with unreached people groups.

We were taught to ask, “have you made peace with God” and “have you experienced the peace of God in your life?” It often seems one generation’s emphasis is the next generation’s neglect.

Declining seminary enrollment and shifts in theological education are complex issues. I do not wish to make light of such or state the problem may be solved with one quick-fix. We did not get here overnight and no solution will arrive overnight.

The imagined paradigm usually includes someone who heralds the evangel, calls for responses from unbelievers, and moves on down the road. While such is one important manifestation of an evangelist’s ministry, it is only part of the calling.

While cleaning out my mother’s house, I recently came across my grandmother’s Bible. I was surprised and encouraged to see that someone had taught her how to use the New Testament to share your faith.
