I realize I’ve sometimes tried to convince myself with excuses and rationalizations that my actions or choices are proper—and only God in his gracious love still continually convicts, challenges, and changes me.

You can capture your congregation’s attention and preach preach on Thanksgiving three weeks “early.” By doing so, you will serve them well, and maybe even make November and December a happier, and more godly, place around your church.

First and foremost, we need to understand that the Holy Spirit is God and that he is an equal and active part of what we call the Trinity.

Not every pastor wants to quit all the time, but from time to time, discouragement sets in, and often it’s hard for pastors to find a safe, anonymous place to talk about it. I took an informal poll asking for the reasons pastors want to quit.

The beauty of mentoring-based discipleship is that it doesn’t just create smarter Christians. It raises up new mentors.

Essentially, your culture is who you are, what you believe, your values and norms and how you get things done. Your staff culture starts with the senior leaders, but it doesn’t end there, it’s a team effort.

How do we give constructive criticism? It’s something all of us see and want to share, but how do we do it in a way that actually helps?

It's hard to embrace pain, even when that may be what God is calling you to do. I have to continually press into pain in life if I'm to lead well, because God uses pain.
