Resources to consider include sensory rooms, sensory-friendly worship services, adaptive toys and teaching materials, oversized bathrooms, and more. Adapt check-in and check-out systems for families who have special needs.
Also remember to support parents, offering them night-out programs and plenty of helpful resources. Pair up students with a buddy who has special needs, or provide aides for kids who need extra assistance.
Jesus loves all his children. And so should the church. While considering outreach opportunities, don’t overlook the special kids in your congregation and community. Assist them and their families, sharing the good news of the gospel and the love of Christ’s church.
