Christian music artist Rhett Walker also questioned Frank’s motives and mentioned how Frank profits off his Jesus-themed merchandise, saying, “I understand the heart, I think, behind this…but…won’t accept an award but will sell a hoodie for over $100 in the name of Jesus?”

Walker shared that he went to the Dove Awards and “celebrated all of my friends who won.” He said that it was “awesome to see each reward as a reminder that someone listened to the Lord and helped pushed the kingdom further!”
Christian band Kings Kaleidoscope reminded Frank that if he doesn’t want to be recognized for awards, he can stop submitting his music to the shows.
“A super clean way to do this is simply not submit your music to awards shows (ie. Frank Ocean), then you have zero chance of winning,” Kings Kaleidoscope said. “To be considered you have to submit your music, which it looks like you or your label/publisher have, why not just bypass that altogether? Thats what we’ve always done.”
CeCe Winans, who has been nominated for four 2025 Dove Awards, including Artist of the Year, told Frank to “Stay true to your convictions!! .”
Hulvey, who has been nominated for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year and Rap/Hip Hop Recorded Song of the Year, commented:
Our names being written in the Lamb’s Book of Life is the GREATEST TROPHY we could ever receive! As a brother I really do respect your heart on this and think that The Lord honors it & also think there’s a space to have a different conviction on it! I also have been really impacted by previous Dove Award shows I’ve attended. When KB, For King & Country & TobyMac spoke I genuinely have not been able to forget what they spoke about and the way it impacted my heart. Also, I experienced an incredible act of selflessness by TobyMac that he did for me at The Doves! I see the Doves as an opportunity as a beautiful reunion among Christian artists. I respect your decision not to go but wanted to shine light on why I’m going and others maybe too! Love you dawg for eternity !!!!!!!
