Although President Trump isn’t perfect, Eric said, God often chooses imperfect people to “save humanity.” His father went from serving French fries and riding in a dump truck one year ago to being on the world stage brokering peace, he pointed out.

“It’s a hell of a story,” said Eric. “It couldn’t be made up other than somebody looking down from above who’s designing this whole architecture of this plan and what he wants for humanity.” Eric explained that he wanted to write “Under Seige” because “demon forces” will attempt to rewrite history about the MAGA movement.

Reaction to Eric Trump’s ‘We’re Saving God’ Comment

Pushback against Eric Trump’s words was swift, with religious and political leaders disagreeing that MAGA is “saving God.” Christian influencer and pro-life advocate Samuel Sey posted, “Don’t be fooled. Some conservatives’ political support for Christianity doesn’t mean they understand it. Donald Trump’s amazing accomplishments are filthy rags. Jesus is his only hope for salvation from God’s wrath.”

Ryan James Miller expressed gratitude that many political leaders are pointing to Jesus but called Eric Trump’s comments “crazy.” He wrote, “Nobody saves God. Nobody saves us but God. This just shows that people like Eric Trump, [while] likely trying to be well meaning, have a long way to go to understand Christ and Christianity!”

New York Pastor Rich Villodas called it “pretty impressive” and “historic” that an “administration saves God.” South Carolina Pastor Derwin Gray described Eric Trump’s comments as “Twilight Zone.”

Lizzie Marbach, a former Trump campaign staffer, said she “audibly gasped” while watching Eric Trump’s interview with Benny Johnson. “I understand how a son wants nothing more than to believe their father is going to heaven,” she posted. “I understand he is proud of the work his dad is doing. But for the sake of people’s souls, we must be clear. God does not need saving.”

Podcaster Jon Favreau, a speechwriter for President Barack Obama, wrote, “We’ve moved rather quickly from ‘God saved Trump’ to ‘Trump is saving God,’ which I guess is the foundation of the new MAGA religion?”

The President Is ‘Never Fake’ About Faith, Says Son Eric Trump

Recently, President Donald Trump has made several references about whether he’s going to heaven. In August, he said he’ll make it there if he’s “good.” He also indicated that ending bloodshed between Russian and Ukraine would improve his chances of entering the pearly gates.

Last weekend, when reporters asked the president about those comments, he admitted he was “being a little cute.” But he added that he thinks he’s “not, maybe, heaven bound.” Even if the president doesn’t make it to heaven, he added, “I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people.”
