Arizona State University has won five of its first seven games of the 2025 season. After too many seasons cut short due to injury, wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is having one of his strongest years on the field. Instead of speaking about stats and drills, Tyson is vocal about how his “faith is everything.”

“I took this next step this season,” said Tyson.

‘My Faith Is Everything’ Says Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson

After a single year at University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, Tyson transferred to Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. That first year in Arizona, however, Tyson only played three games due to a collarbone injury.

The 2025 season has Arizona State ranked third in the Big 12 Conference. After a “breakout season in 2024,” where Tyson had 75 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns, Tyson is crediting his faith for him being “locked in” this season.

Tyson already has gained more than 630 yards and eight touchdowns for Arizona. But he recognizes something much more important in his life.

“I’m diving into my faith completely,” Tyson said, “especially with the guys. I seen all the guys do it as well. All of us.”

He recognizes the importance of Bible study and community as his faith grows.

“The Bible—I kind of look at as the instructions to life,” said Tyson. “As much as I get into the Word…it kind of elevates my life in every way possible.”

Tyson’s faith has permeated other aspects of his life. “You pray to God before you get onto the field,” Tyson argued. “While you’re off the field, why don’t you praise him as well?

In a recent interview, Tyson expressed trust in God’s plan for his life, saying, “I feel like regardless of what happens in my life, I’m still going to be a follower, still have that faith.”
