Christian Huff: ‘Be Surrounded by Good Community’
Sadie Robertson Huff and Christian Huff also answered questions about their experience with long-distance dating. To make that work, Christian said, you need good friends, strong trust, and involvement in a local church. Both partners must “be surrounded by good community,” he said.

Sadie agreed, emphasizing that each partner must have a strong relationship with God. “Nothing should be done in secret,” she said, and you need friends to hold you accountable. On the topic of communication, Sadie described their style as “very open.” As a result, she admitted that it’s tough when a female friend asks her to keep something secret from Christian.
Parenting young kids “requires so much of you individually and together,” Sadie said of this life stage. But working through arguments and disagreements “has only made us better,” she said. Through their challenges, Sadie and Christian have pinpointed “the kind of marriage we want to have,” Sadie said.
Sadie explained that she’s trying to follow the example of the Proverbs 31 woman, being prepared, “sowing seeds,” and enduring through “the dirty work.” The couple knows “we’re working toward something beautiful” in their family, said Sadie. “There’s so much good in our season right now,” she added, despite the sleeplessness and stress.
Sadie concluded by encouraging moms who are “doing the best that you can with what you have.” She urged women to lean into other people’s help and to continue being “the light of the world,” which is what Sadie and Christian “tell our kids.”
