New England’s TreVeyon Henderson: ‘It’s a Journey’
About his five-touchdown performance this week, running back TreVeyon Henderson said, “I think it’s a journey,” adding that “the NFL comes with a lot of highs and lows.”

On Sunday, Henderson said he “tries my best to lean on God to pick me up and give me the strength to keep going,” especially during the lows of pro sports. “I thank God for the way that he’s allowed it to go, because he’s matured me a lot in my faith,” he said. “[God’s] been drawing me closer to him during the season and just helping me to keep my eyes on him.”
Henderson also glorifies God on social media. His bio on X includes the statements “I am nothing without God” and “Jesus saved my life.”
Last month, Henderson defended the decision of fellow rookie Travis Hunter to get baptized hours before taking the field with Jacksonville. Sports commentator Skip Bayless argued the timing was bad, saying Hunter “is losing interest” and “is mentally checking out.”
Henderson reposted that and wrote, “Na, God opened [Hunter’s] eyes to what truly matters.” He quoted 2 Corinthians 6:2: “For God says, ‘At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.’ Indeed, the ‘right time’ is now. Today is the day of salvation.’”
