“We came home from [the service] and we were in our kitchen and I looked at Matt like, ‘Man, I love the documentaries we’ve been watching,'” said Marlee , “‘but how cool would it be to watch a docuseries about what’s happening in our city and what’s happening on this football team because it’s so unique and it’s so different from the documentaries we’re watching.’”
The only problem was, we aren’t “filmmakers,” Marlee said, “so we had no idea what to do next.” That is when Matthew shared he plays pick-up basketball with a local filmmaker named Doug Joseph. So they called him up and asked him where they should start and “he decided to join forces with us,” said Matthew.
Next they contacted Henderson, Scott, and Egbuka and had a three-hour whiteboard session where they laid out their entire vision for the docuseries. “Then we just began capturing and documenting,” Matthew shared. “What most people maybe don’t know is there are actually third-party companies that are in the locker room capturing footage for all of these games.”
“And so eventually what we did is we captured everything that was off the field,” he said. “And then we licensed a lot of the game footage and locker room footage and paired the two together.”

“At the end of the season after the guys were a little less busy,” he said, “we were able to sit them down and actually conduct their interviews and then pull it all together.”
On Thursday, Nov. 20, One Church hosted an event that highlighted not only the docuseries but also a panel that was moderated by Matthew and included former Ohio State football players giving their testimony. The panel also featured Tebow. Following the panel, Pastor Greg Ford interviewed Tebow about his foundation’s work of bringing awareness to and combatting human trafficking in our nation.
