Melissa Joan Hart Gives Back and Sponsors 3 Girls Through World Vision
Hart’s family sponsors three grils in Zambia through World Vision, and Hart has gotten to visit them.
“As an ambassador for World Vision, as someone who has been there twice now, it is life-changing,” Hart explained years ago. “It’s so inspiring to hear what you and your family have been able to do.”
Focused on meeting practical needs with an eternal purpose, World Vision is not a “hand out—but a hand up.” The three girls that Hart sponsors went from doing a daily water walk and living in a small structure with a dozen other people to thriving in a village with clean water and attending school.
“I’ve seen with my own eyes how they [World Vision] equip and empower communities all over the world,” said Hart in a video. “Whether it’s access to clean water, economic development, education, healthcare, or support through emergencies, World Vision is there.”
Hart reflected on her longstanding relationship with World Vision. “I have always looked for an organization that will work around the world and in the U.S. in a deep and meaningful way—the kind that doesn’t gloss over a problem,” Hart said. “An organization that has levels and layers and someone’s thought deeply about how these programs work and how to really empower people to get out of poverty.”
She continues to advocate for the incredible work of World Vision and invites others to give generously.
