Lamar Jackson, Ravens Teammates Wash Students’ Feet, Provide New Shoes

For his charitable work and other off-the-field efforts, Henry was nominated as the Ravens’ 2025 Walter Payton Man of the Year. The running back said he wears eye black in the shape of crosses to honor God.

“I’m big on prayer and giving God thanks for everything that I have,” Henry told “Faith on the Field” in 2022. “I put God first in everything I do, and I wouldn’t be where I am without him.”

Zay Flowers, another participant in the foot-washing and shoe giveaway, also lives out his Christian faith. Before every game, the wide receiver said he reads Bible verses. Flowers, the 11th of 14 children, lost his mom when he was just 5. After she died, dad Willie Flowers admitted he was “really pissed at God for a while, feeling like it had to be a mistake.” He recalled, “I stopped talking to God, but I’m glad he kept talking to me.”

Although the 7-8 Ravens currently have a losing record, their determination to share God’s love in tangible ways makes them winners in the community.
