Former Oklahoma Pastor Pleads Guilty in Peeping Tom Case, Will Serve 2-Year Prison Term

“It is important for us to know who our community leaders are, who’s on school boards, who’s in churches and various other things,” she added. “The point of the sex offender registration act is to notify and to let people know who our perpetrators [are] in the community, and we did just that with this plea.”

Crudup indicated that peeping Tom cases are often the precursor to escalating sex crimes, adding, “This is something that we see as a kind of preemptive way to circumvent future victims, potentially. This is a first step, a first step of sexual deviance, which is why we are taking it so seriously.”

Oakley was taken into custody shortly after being sentenced. He is required to serve 85% of his sentence before he is eligible for parole.
