On Monday morning, Trump posted on Truth Social that he and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz spoke on the phone.

“Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota,” the president said. “It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength. I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking for are any and all Criminals that they have in their possession.”

Trump continued, “The Governor, very respectfully, understood that, and I will be speaking to him in the near future. He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I!” He added, “We have had such tremendous SUCCESS in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana, and virtually every other place that we have “touched” and, even in Minnesota, Crime is way down, but both Governor Walz and I want to make it better!”

Christian Leaders React to Latest ICE Shooting

Center for Baptist Leadership executive director William Wolfe wrote on X, “It’s pretty amazing how the Bible literally instructs you on how NOT to get shot by federal law enforcement officials performing legitimate deportation operations.”

Wolfe then shared an image of Romans 13:2-5:

Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience.

Pastor Joel Webbon shared Wolfe’s X post and wrote, “The Bible literally provides a guide for how to NOT get shot by ICE.”

Actor Kevin Sorbo said, “It’s surprisingly easy to not get shot by ICE.”

Worship leader Sean Feucht posted, “How to not get shot by ICE: 1) Do not resist arrest. 2) Also, do not resist arrest while touching a loaded firearm.”

Pastor Dwight McKissic said, “I’ve long mourned and hurt for Black people who are far to familiar with this…my heart is now aching for White persons and their families experiencing this.” He continued, “The war here is over ideology, more so than race. The last two persons shot, didn’t share MAGA ideology and were sympathetic towards brown and black people, who in many cases were American citizens being unfairly harassed. Sad day in America.”

Turning Point USA contributor and activist Riley Gaines posted, “It’s so easy to not get shot by ICE.”

Biblical Studies professor and associate pastor Denny Burk wrote, “Andy McCarthy has the correct take on the Minneapolis shooting: ‘It’s a mistake for Trump administration officials and Minnesota Democrats to continue making bold pronouncements before the smoke clears and an investigation can be conducted.’” He added, “Due process. Facts. Evidence. That is what we need right now. Not assertions of guilt or innocence based on who you’ve already prejudged to be the good guys and the bad guys.”
