Ken Ham Announces Plans to ‘Confront Racism’ With New Tower of Babel Exhibit

Framing anti-racism as itself racist, Chaffey said, “Ironically, critical race theory is also the exact opposite of Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream that people would be judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin.”

While Answers in Genesis roundly condemns the use of CRT, a diversity of thought exists among American Christians, often resulting in sharp disagreement. This was no more evident than in the June 2021 meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention, which was marked by division over a previous resolution that referred to Critical Race Theory and intersectionality as “analytical tools” that “can aid in evaluating a variety of human experiences.”

While the resolution also said that CRT and intersectionality are insufficient by themselves to “redress the root causes of the social ills that they identify, which result from sin,” many within the denomination see any usage of CRT as antithetical to biblical teaching.

The SBC messengers ultimately decided to leave the resolution in place, which was seen as a victory to many of those who have been advocating for greater racial equity within the denomination.

Casting a different vision for racial unity, Chaffey ended his blog about the forthcoming Tower of Babel exhibit by saying, “When it’s open, we believe you will be thrilled with its gospel emphasis and its answers to an important question of our day: where did all the people groups come from?”
