Darden, a lifelong Presbyterian who serves as a church elder, says faith was instrumental throughout her career. “Our church teaches us we are priests on the job, so how we work with people on the job is part of our faith.”
While raising three daughters with her husband, Walter, Darden became active in her local congregation. In addition, she has chaired and served on several regional and denominational committees. Most recently, she co-chaired the General Assembly Advisory Committee for Social Witness Policy from 2012 to 2016 and was vice moderator of the General Assembly Committee on Representation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2001.
