In her letter to church members, Ali Dunagan thanked people for their “tender care” that has “carried us through this devastating time.” Her husband was “passionate about leading the church authentically,” she said, which is why he openly discussed his own struggle with anxiety. His prescribed medication, “combined with accountability and counseling, led to his strong mental fitness and resilient joy,” she added.

“This news has been challenging to process,” Ali Dunagan admitted about the autopsy results. “I’ve had to walk through another trauma as I’m again tempted to ask God, ‘Why?’” Doctors she’s spoken to have been “puzzled” by the deadly outcome, she said. “Unfortunately, Bryan is in the small statistic of folks for whom these interactions were fatal.”
Ali Dunagan reminded congregants that God is present during the grieving process and during the journey of recovery. “We ask for your continued compassion and discretion as you process this news with us,” she concluded.
