‘The Church Is Called To Salt, Not Sugar,’ Says Pastor John Amanchukwu

Holding up his Bible, Amanchukwu replied, “My message is this message…How dare you tell me that!”

Amanchukwu said he’s concerned that this generation is “starting to try to re-present the Word of God, re-present Jesus, instead of represent Jesus…the Bible does not need to be rewritten. We are closed Canon preachers. We don’t need any new revelation.”

“The Bible is more current than tomorrow’s newspaper if we would just preach it,” Amanchukwu added. “We must understand that Satan’s influence infiltrates into every sphere of society. That’s why the church must be present everywhere.”

“The church is called to be the light of the world and to be the salt of the earth—not the sugar of the world. That’s the problem today with our world: There’s too much sugar in it and not enough salt,” Amanchukwu said. “Salt preserves. It slows down decay.”
