He added that there is an “epidemic of violence against transgender women and girls, especially women and girls of color, [that] continues to take too many lives.”
“Let me be clear,” Biden said. “All of these attacks are un-American and must end. No one should have to be brave just to be themselves.”
Biden informed Americans that his Administration is working to “stop the bullying and harassment of transgender children and their families,” and is “providing dedicated emergency mental health support through our nationwide suicide and crisis lifeline [for] any LGBTQI+ young person.”
“Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans,” Biden added. “You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.”
The first year of Biden’s presidency, Easter was on April 4, 2021. The next year it was on April 17, 2022. The following year, it was on April 9, 2023. The last time Easter was celebrated on March 31 was in 2013, when Barack Obama was president.

Ed Stetzer, dean of Talbot School of Theology and editor in chief of Outreach magazine, a parter with ChurchLeaders.com, responded to Biden’s “A Proclamation on Transgender Day of Visibility, 2024.”
“On Easter, Christians celebrate the bodily resurrection of Jesus from the dead, reminding us that Jesus is the true Lord of the whole world and that our physical bodies matter,” Stetzer told ChurchLeaders. “Yet, for that same day, President Joe Biden declares that his administration will promote the Trans Day of Visibility, doubling down on this administration’s radical approach to gender.”
“In doing so, President Biden once again denies the basic truths of his own Catholic faith, once more showing why so many Evangelicals and Catholics simply cannot support this administration,” Stetzer concluded.
