In a 2021 interview with NBA.com, Horford said, “My whole purpose in life is to please God, to ensure I’m doing his will and that I’m living my life in that example. Based on that, that’s how I go about my life, and then the rest of everything will fall in place—whether it’s me being a basketball player, being the best father, the best husband, and just trying to help anybody I can along the way.”

Horford has been married to Amelia Vega, a former Miss Universe, since 2011. They have five children.

While Horford was playing for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2019, he told NBC Sports, “My faith is something that really gives me stability and makes me keep a lot of things in perspective and helps me manage with all the ups and downs that can go within a season.”
