Teen Remembered for His ‘Love for Jesus’ Following Tragic Death on Football Field

“But my son’s favorite thing in the world to do was to talk about Jesus and was wanting people to follow Jesus,” Jamie said.

“If you want to live like Caden, then you love Jesus,” he added. “And you put Jesus first and foremost in your life—above everything, above everyone. One of the last things he said to his youth pastor on Wednesday night (just days before the game) was, ‘I want revival at Morgan Academy.’”

“Because he knew if revival hit Morgan Academy, it was going to be a spark to hit the city of Selma, which was then going to send a spark to the rest of the state of Alabama,” Jamie went on to say. “Because if it hits the city of Selma, no one can deny it. God is working in this city.”

Jamie admitted that it is hard not to question circumstances at this moment. But he said there is no question that “God is using Caden and will continue to use Caden.”

GoFundMe account that has been set up to help cover medical and funeral expenses has reached over $90,000 of its $100,000 goal.

“Caden is best known for his kindness, generosity and love. True to his nature, he is giving of himself one more time to save the lives of others through the donation of his organs,” the campaign’s description reads. “His legacy will live on and we thank God that we had the opportunity to love him and be loved by him.”
