“So for us, we’re like, all right, we’re gonna go into this battle—and let me tell you, it was an uphill battle the entire way—trying to get this movie up and going,” Alexa added. “But we’re really proud of the final product, and I really feel like what we made is so special, because it’s genuinely a good, wholesome movie.”

Prayer played a pivotal role on set, she shared. They started every morning with prayer and invited everyone on the set to join them. Alexa said that the prayer times brought such a “spirit of God’s goodness on the set.” One day, she recalled, they missed their morning prayer routine and everything that could go wrong that day did. “One of our crew members shouted, ‘It’s because we missed our prayer,’” she said.
When asked what she hopes viewers take away from the film, Alexa said, “I want them to leave this movie smiling so big a feeling of genuine joy. We didn’t reinvent something here, but I think what we did do was elevate it.”
