‘That’s 12 Million Opportunities for Kids To Hear That God Loves Them,’ Says Samaritan’s Purse

Pallets of shoeboxes containing gifts of necessities and toys are shipped around the world by OCC. During distribution events, children are invited to hear the gospel message in a “culturally sensitive manner.”

“We don’t just give a box and say ‘Merry Christmas. See ya later,'” explained Lynch. “We follow up.”

Each child has an opportunity to go through a 12-week discipleship course. At the end of the interactive experience, children graduate and receive their own Bibles.

Children learn about Jesus in a deep and meaningful way. They’re able to explain why they believe what they believe and live into God’s purpose for their lives.

Lynch recently took her own children on a trip to distribute shoeboxes. The experience was truly meaningful as her own family recognized the many blessings they have received. They were also able to witness the joy on the children’s faces as they received their shoeboxes full of goodies.

“Please continue to pray,” Lynch said. “Each box is an opportunity to share the love of God.”
