In a manifesto that investigators are trying to authenticate, Rupnow allegedly called her parents “scum.” Titled “War Against Humanity,” the document indicates that the author had “grown to hate people, and society.”
On Dec. 17, Madison residents held a prayer vigil to remember the shooting victims. Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway said the community “will never be the same” but will survive. “We will get through this together by relying on each other and taking care of each other,” she added.
Killed in the shooting were teacher Erin Michelle West, 42, and student Rubi Patricia Vergara, 14. Several injured victims are still hospitalized.
