Dozens of comments include affirmations of Harbaugh’s faith and influence on the team.
“Wow! Amazing!” posted one fan. “I have started to see more of this in college, but not NFL! This is awesome.”
Others wonder what being on the team is like if a player isn’t a Christian.
“Always wonder if this causes tension in the locker rooms with all the God speak, prayers, in interviews and not everyone on a team [has] the same beliefs,” someone commented.
The Harbaugh Men Come From a Long Line of Football Coaching
The Harbaugh family comes from a long line of football coaching. Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh followed in his dad’s footsteps as a football coach. Jack Harbaugh coached high school and college football throughout his career.
Harbaugh’s younger brother, Jim, had a successful NFL career as a player and later joined the family’s legacy as a coach. Jim has coached both college and professional football and currently serves as the head coach for the Los Angeles Chargers.
Jim has also been outspoken about his faith and Jesus being a “key figure” for him as he coached football.
“I have a feeling that if Jesus would have come back now in this era, I suppose that many of the biblical analogies and teachings would be about sports,” Jim said. “Solomon would have been a great coach, too. I have that feeling. Jesus would have been a…five-star player, no doubt about it. He would have been a Hall of Fame coach.”
John and Jim are the first pair of brothers to be head coaches in the NFL. They faced each other in the Super Bowl in 2013.
