Players From Notre Dame, Ohio State Shine Light on Christian Faith Ahead of National Championship Game

Like his title-game opponent, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day is a practicing Catholic. About the Christian players on his team, Day said, “We were called to be bold.” The coach said he appreciates and supports the players’ faith-filled words and actions. After the on-campus worship event in August, Day said:

I think when you look at what they’ve done together as a group, they rub off on each other, and that part of it—that’s their own business that they handle, but I think when you start to see and hear some of the messages that some of our team is giving, not only out in the community but to our own team on campus…you just recognize what unbelievable guys we have in our locker room.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Ohio State Buckeyes compete for the College Football Playoff title on Monday, Jan. 20, in Atlanta.
